Nihongi (1998)

The natural progression of the "spit-ups" I was showing earlier in the week.
Here I attempted to illustrate the "Nihongi" an esoteric shinto text, without any kind of cultural net for the interpretation. I was literally improvising everything except the words that I picked out.
No pencil underdrawing, just ballpoint pen, instant coffee and stubbornness.
I present it here for your amusement.
There was no part 2.

Scrap: mid 90's

Gesture drawings from observation. The location (I think) was the park blocks near Portland State University.
