Unfinished Train Cars (From the vault, 1996?)
I don't think I finished this because I committed the last wheel too far away and the perspective wasn't going to work. This was in the days before I could mitigate my inadequacies by software. I also must say I have NO MEMORY of making this piece at all. I would like to recycle this motif.

Scraps from the vault
I found a huge box of old files, poems, drawings and ideas that I will either be throwing or photographing and probably throwing out. I'll post some of these treasures from the vault through the summer.

Worlds Without Master #9!
It is born out of reading a bunch of Clark Ashton Smith for the first time. Boy that is some weird stuff. The fantastic realms that Dr Strange travels through as envisioned by Steve Ditko in his legendary run had to have been inspired by those stories.
It was one of the hardest things I've made, before the last hard thing I made anyway. It doesn't especially look like it, but if you could see the hundred discarded layers you might agree. I started off with a much more Richard Powers type of concept but it wanted to be something else entirely and took on it's own life. I had been up all night, it started to exert some dramatic pull on my consciousness, forming my decisions as to it's creation. I finished it at 5am. It was the first sunrise all nighter I have pulled since college. I felt shaky and drained and my speech was full of muttering and garbled pockets the next day. Now when I look at it I think I'm staring at some kind of twisted Yantra.

1990 Sketchbook drawing "Andromeda Clockwork"
I use to do these frantic gesture lines over the page and then carefully go over these with a weird faux brushstroke that looks like a messy Art Nouveau style of smoky jagged line. I did these types of drawings for a few years.
I just pulled this out of a stack of drawings destined for

Moving Art "Conversations-1" Mixed media.
I have been wanting to do something like this for years. Huge learning curve. The second one will be a little better. Getting "best resolutions" and "best platform for distribution" decisions need to get tightened up. Started out confusing myself on making a gif and then resorted to Vine. The high resolution mov. that I made won't play on my desktop but it looks fantastic.

Coming to grips with Violence 1994
Something happened in my 20's. It happens to all of us doesn't it?
Anyway this was another one of those crazy art spit-ups that I found lurking at the bottom of a box.
Also as an exercise I challenged myself to fancy micron work without any pencils, just pure collage-like improvisational fill-in-the-space horo-vacue.

My internal calendar visualized.
I see the year when I think of it. This is kind of what it looks like when I see/think of it in my mind. Strange.
