So excited to get this in the mail today! What a perfect time to recieve it!
I have to say I am so honored to have been selected to do the illustrations for this book. Thank you Paul Czege for the chance!
The grayscale turned out great and I love the paper it's printed on!

Lux Hot Beans!
Emily made Hot Pickled Beans for gifts again this year! I made the label again, this time a bean nativity scene. We were up late last night sticking labels on jars.

1990 Sketchbook drawing "Andromeda Clockwork"
I use to do these frantic gesture lines over the page and then carefully go over these with a weird faux brushstroke that looks like a messy Art Nouveau style of smoky jagged line. I did these types of drawings for a few years.
I just pulled this out of a stack of drawings destined for

Moving Art "Conversations-1" Mixed media.
I have been wanting to do something like this for years. Huge learning curve. The second one will be a little better. Getting "best resolutions" and "best platform for distribution" decisions need to get tightened up. Started out confusing myself on making a gif and then resorted to Vine. The high resolution mov. that I made won't play on my desktop but it looks fantastic.

Nihongi (1998)
The natural progression of the "spit-ups" I was showing earlier in the week.
Here I attempted to illustrate the "Nihongi" an esoteric shinto text, without any kind of cultural net for the interpretation. I was literally improvising everything except the words that I picked out.
No pencil underdrawing, just ballpoint pen, instant coffee and stubbornness.
I present it here for your amusement.
There was no part 2.

Coming to grips with Violence 1994
Something happened in my 20's. It happens to all of us doesn't it?
Anyway this was another one of those crazy art spit-ups that I found lurking at the bottom of a box.
Also as an exercise I challenged myself to fancy micron work without any pencils, just pure collage-like improvisational fill-in-the-space horo-vacue.
