Fun with Blocks

I managed to snap these photos of block-architecture before they were knocked down by my earthquake-son. Fun stuff. My hope is to make more and use them as reference for great drawings. I present these photos here for your amusement.

More Life Drawings from Spring!

Backlog of my life drawings from Spring Term. This may be the last of them. I keep these up online primarily as a way of documenting the work. For what? I don't know! Oh well! I have yet to find the keeping of these records discouraging and hope rather that presenting them for your enjoyment may be encouraging!

I am going to try to get some student work up this summer (2 terms worth? ) as I have been (disappointingly) to busy to prioritize that stuff this last year.

Panel & Son

A giant panel I finished for a recent book. I had to lean it up against the wood stove and work on it in between other things. Next to the big paper is the cover for another project titled "The thing from the pit" charcoal on canvas waiting for paint. My son is in the corner looking confused.

New Instrument

A new instrument I bought at the Asian grocery. Really cool refillable brush-pen. Unfortunately the flow isn't what I'd hoped and it tends to get a dry-brush mark pretty fast, but that's cool if that's what I want. I think that you are supposed to squeeze the handle intermittently. I couldn't read the instructions they were in Japanese.
